Canadian-grown, cold-pressed Camelina Oil for dogs and cats.
We are pleased to offer Smart Earth Camelina Oil at Irricana Kountry Kennel. Camelina oil is a plant-based source of fatty acids, including Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9.
Smart Earth Camelina Oil contains just one ingredient: 100% cold-pressed, non-GMO Camelina sativa seed oil, with no additives.
16 oz / 473 mL Bottle |
64 oz / 1.89 L Jug |
Camelina oil is a simple way to add essential fatty acids to your dog's diet. It is naturally rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based Omega-3 fatty acid, and also provides Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids. Smart Earth reports an Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio of approximately 1.6:1 to 1.8:1.
Smart Earth Camelina Oil is cold-pressed from Canadian-grown camelina seed and contains no additives. Simply add the appropriate amount to your dog's regular food each day.
Smart Earth's suggested amount for dogs is:
5 mL (1 teaspoon) for each 25 lb of body weight per day.
When first introducing Camelina Oil, begin with a smaller amount and gradually work up to the full suggested serving. Introducing too much oil too quickly may cause loose stool. The daily amount may also be divided between two meals.
Store at room temperature away from direct light. Smart Earth lists a shelf life of approximately one year under these conditions after opening.
Smart Earth advises that this product should not be used in pregnant or lactating animals, or animals with bleeding disorders. If you are unsure whether Camelina Oil is appropriate for your pet, consult your veterinarian before use.
